Great running shoe (with 1 superminor 'but')

I have bought these recently. After 100 k on them I have some feedback: 1) they are soft and flexible 2) great cushioning 3) great for the long run 4) didn't have a long adjustment period, during my first run I was capable to run 14k without discomfort. HOWEVER, when I run in them longer 30 minutes, I notice that my feet get too hot and it creates a bit of discomfort. It would be great if there was a bit more air access to cool the feet down, like the netting Ultraboost has. ... read more

Great distance runner

Perfect road running shoe. Incredible grip. Snug fit. This boost is pretty firm and that's a great thing. The cage has a strong hole in mid foot. Only flaw is that it doesn't vent or breath well. Got it 7 days ago and have 50 miles on the shoe. ... read more

The whole experience from laptop to delivery was first class as often we have to wait a number of days for delivery to Ireland. The shoes not only look good but they also are so comfortable and that is particularly in my line of work in professional cosching. ... read more

Unbearable pain

Extremely disappointed. Where the tongue and bridge support meet the stitching is essentially plastic and bruised the bridge of my feet. The upper feels soft when you try it on but unbearable after a few miles. Wanted to enjoy the soft boost sole but ended up walking home in the cold. Ran Edinburgh marathon in Adios Boston’s and entered for Paris looking for more support. Resided to buying a pair of “proper” running shoes from another brand. Ugly but at least they do what they were made for. ... read more

Very nice alternative to the Ultra Boost.

Not quite as comfortable as the UltraBoost or sppedfactory am4, but almost on par with them. The price makes this a very good deal, especially if you want a boost running shoe that doesn't cost nigh 200 dollars. ... read more

Comfy, look great

Very comfortable and I dont notice them whilst running. Look really smart too. The foam seems to have less bounce than earlier Supernovas. Laces are better though and don't work loose. Only minor issue is the collar cuts my ankle slightly on tight turns, expect this will get better over time. Nice fit and wide enough on the toe box. ... read more

Good supportive shoe - not as stable as I thought

Good running shoe - comfortable out of the box with virtually no break-in time required. Upper is a nice material, breathable but holds the foot in place. Cushioning is good for pounding miles on the concrete. Tread is minimal (not for use on trails) but good rubber for pavements. I'm Slightly disappointed by the stability, since these are supposed to be stabilising shoes. They have improved stability over my previous (neutral) Adidas boosts, but not as much as I expected. The primary stability is in the rear and mid-section; none that I notice in the front of the shoe. They look good too, which is an added bonus. Ordered a pair of SolarDrive ST at the same time. Couldn't find a single difference between the two shoes, other than the tread... Just an observation. Kept these as they were the cheaper pair. ... read more

Great cushion underfoot but tongue has a sharp edge

When I first put these shoes on they felt wonderful and I took them out for an 8 mile run. The underfoot feel was wonderful, cushioned but responsive. However, the edge on the tongue is very firm and cut into the front of my ankles. By the end of the run, I had a 1 inch cut across both ankles from the tongue, and will not wear them again. They would be a great shoe if the tongue had some padding or cushioning around the edge. ... read more

Comfy reliable running trainer.

Super comfy and cushioned with the boost sole. Toe box felt quite wide so at first I felt the size was too big. But the mid foot is held in so snugly that it does not make much difference. I could see it might be too snug if you have wider feet. Mine are average. The weight is a touch heavier than I would have liked but it is in no way a heavy shoe. Just that there are lighter shoes available. The build quality feels good and it feels like it will last. Pretty responsive when you push that pace and feels like it will handle distance well (have only gone to 8 miles in a single run so far). ... read more

A great shoe

The Solarboost is probably the most comfortable running shoe I have used so far. The only issue and it is a small one is that the tongue can sometimes feel uncomfortable on the top of your foot. But for overall support and comfort they are very good. I am recovering from an injury sustained during running and the cushioning in the sole has been most welcome not only on the gentle runs I have been doing but generally to reduce shock to the knee. I would highly recommend them. The available colours and the look of the shoe are, I think, really stylish I have the light blue with orange bits which works well. I ... read more

Favorite running shoe after initial break-in

When I first put the shoe on, the top of the shoe on the outside rubbed against my ankle and caused pain. After running in them for about 10 miles, the rubbing is no longer noticeable and the shoes are extremely comfortable to run in. ... read more

Amazing shoes

Having used the Supernova's (Glide 9?) a couple of years back, I was pleasantly surprised with it's spiritual successor. The ride is springy without being mushy, and I'm able to pick up the pace without feeling weighted down too much. I actually set a 5km personal best time the first time I ran in these shoes. ... read more

A fine running shoe

Quite comfortable with a soft but compliant ride. Great Continental tread, but we'll see how that holds up with the openings into the cushioning on the bottom. As others stated, on the larger side of standard sizing but I'd prefer that over smaller. ... read more

Great fit, top notch quality, super sleek looks

I've only bought Adidas football boots in the past and usually they are quite snug. Found the same consistency here, opting for a 12 where I may go for an 11.5 in other shoes. Whilst my old non-adidas running shoes were comfy, i would get slight blistering when running any kind of distance. Two trips out in these and no discomfort at all. Have loved the boost range since they came out but have only recently made the leap since i've started running further. I suspect other specialised running brands may compare with these for comfort and performance but it's the looks you get from these as well that really set them apart in my opinion ... read more

Comfortable walking shoe with good arch support and tread.

I am replacing same shoe in an updated model. Good qualities:, good arch support, solid thick tread, runs narrow so men's sizes fit my long women's foot. Not so good qualities: in old version - lining wore out too quickly, in new version - new elastic bands over arch pull a little too tightly over arch. ... read more

Great running trainers

I bought this to replace my supernovas, which I really liked ( I actually had two pairs of them) first the look they are really cool looking trainers ( blue) second they feel lighter that the supernova’s and also more breathable, my only hope is that the big toe part is better reinforced as this is something I struggled with the previous ones, great recovery and long distance trainers . ... read more

Ripped in multiple places for no reason

Very disappointed, expected a lot from these shoes, my last four pairs of running shoes have all been from adidas, these solar boosts ripped within a month in multiple places, and I know that I take care of my shoes. The rips are in the same places on both shoes so it is not me. Appalling considering they cost me £140, I not sure if my shoe had defects but I will think twice before buying another pair of running shoes form adidas ... read more

Thin sole with not enough flexibility and sole depth to cushion impact on the ball of the foot and heels

Compared to adidas's best running, shoe which is the "UltraBoost All Terrain", the entire sole on the "Solar Boost" model is made of far less flexible rubber, therefor feels very stiff. It's also not thick enough to absorb impact on the ball of foot and heels. ... read more

Entry level Boost shoe

I suppose I was spoiled because I owned some of the first models of Boost shoes, before there were different levels of Boost. If you want OG Boost comfort, you have to go with UltraBoost. Everything else has less Boost cushioning and thus, not as comfortable. These are nearly identical to the Response Limited shoes. Depending on what Boost shoes you're used to, these tend to run a 1/2 size big. I wear an 11 1/2 in Pure Boost and the aforementioned earlier Boost models. Even the 11's are a little big in this and the Response Limited. The most disappointing part was calling in to customer service to see if they could tell me if this shoe fit more like Pure Boost or more like Response Limited and they were completely clueless (even that might be an understatement). Shouldn't reps from a shoe company know shoe comparisons? ... read more
