It's a stiff shoe. For my feet, the torsion system can go away because I can feel it hit the pavement when I run in these. This feeling reverberates up to my knees. The cushioning feels dead to me, from the toe area up to just under the arch area of my feet. The cushioning under the heel doesn't start working for me until about 8 miles into my runs. It's a warm shoe. The toe box is covered with a lining. But it's light and it looks good. My Adizero Adios 3 is better. But cushioning is dead on that shoe after 200+ miles. ... read more

Great update on an already great line

These are legitimately one of the best shoes I have run in, and I rotate running shoes quite a bit. Adidas made an already great shoes even better. I felt the 6s ran true to size, but I found the 7s to be yet truer to size, if that makes sense. One of the most notable upgrade on the 7s are how more secure the heel feels compared to the 6s. Not that I had issues with the 6s, but the 7s secures your heels even better, without any added discomfort. The width on toe box and forefoot the 7s is a bit more forgiving without being sloppy. The ride on the 7s is slightly stiffer compared to the 6s, but that could be because I have considerable more miles on my 6s than I have on my 7s. Overall a great shoe and in my opinion one of the best in the market. Very versatile. Has enough cushioning to be a daily trainer, but enough responsiveness and light enough to be used in races or tempo runs. ... read more

The near perfect shoe...

Near perfect, hence the 4 stars. Positives: - The protective edge of the toe box has finally been lengthened on the side, so it is not cutting into the second small toe (hopefully less black toe nails and no need to cut holes into the shoe any more). This is a BIG plus as all previous models were very weak on this point. I would like the edge to be on the outside (not the invisible design), and in softer, but more robust material - hence the 4*. - Weight is still light (great) Things to improve (and reason for 'near perfect'): - DROP (this is the main reason for losing a star): a lower drop (ideally 4mm, but even 5/6mm) could make this shoe perfect Other imperfections: - Toe box edge (as explained above) - Shoe feels stiffer than previous models - Shoe laces look and feel cheap - Colours could be better, but this is not a priority over design. ... read more

The Ford Escort of performance shoes

I love Bostons. They are the my go to all-rounders. I can wear them for 200m reps to LSRs. The 7s are no different to the 6s apart from a few minor ‘cosmetic’ changes. I go half size up. A shame the price has rocketed, partly due to Kanye and ‘boost’ becoming a fashion thing. ... read more

No gimmick shoes for runnning

I run about 4.5 miles, 3-4 time a week on my local roads and have been a long adidas fan. Recently I’ve had negative experiences with mega boost , in my mind all gimmicky. And who sells shoes without an insole? Insane. I picked this shoe expecting it to be a proper runners shoe and I was not disappointed. It’s lighweight, no superfluous bulk and sufficeient cushioning with out too much. No silly features, just a regular running shoe done right! ... read more

Dream shoe!

I wear size 11 so I ordered 12 as usual for running. It feels a little smaller than a normal size 12, which was great! No toes pain or problems so far. I took it on shorter runs 5-10 miles and so far it is great. Heals are nice and snug, toes are happy and free, feels like a minimalist shoe (I have a couple of those) but with the necessary cushioning. I am planning to run my next marathon with this pair. My next long run is this weekend so i will come back here only if I get a black toe. My biggest problem with many other shoes is a burn under the feet in the middle front after 3-4 miles and this one had no burn at all. I cycle between 4 pairs turing one marathon season and this is the pair I am most afraid to wear out (I may just go ahead and buy another copy!). Oh, that reminds me, it does wear out quickly so i won't expect more than 300-400 miles out of these. ... read more

Improper sizing

I am really disappointed/ frustrated with Adidas repeated inconsistent sizing issues. These Boston 7s do not fit like the 4 pair of Boston 6s I have owned, they fit more like the 10+ pairs Boston 5 in my opinion. (I found the 6s to feel smaller than the 5s, had change to B width and go up 1/2 size). Toe box feels way roomier and cranked down heel locked tied shoes I can get my index fingers between heel collar/ side wall on both sides of my smaller foot and with a little discomfort I can pop my heel out said tied shoe. I am unable to do this with any of my beat up stretched out Boston 6s. Thes are the forth pair of improper sized Adidas Bostons I have tried within a roughly 2 year span bought through 3 legit sources. ... read more

I like them, hope I can train in them!

I bought them for looks...and as a long time runner, I know you don’t do that. But if they don’t work as trainers, I’ll wear them casually. I’m on the fence about the throwback look, but they are such a great shoe and I really want them to work! ... read more

The spoils of an accomplishment

Sharp, comfortable...I bought these because I finished the most awful but best Boston Marathon ever. They are loud and scream Boston Marathon. They are cool as heck, but I am embarrassed I paid $120 for a pair of shoes. ... read more

Lightweight without sacrificing comfort

Trained for my marathon in a different brand of sneakers. Got to my first taper week without problems. Achilles issues developed, panic set in, and I needed a bit of marathon mojo to keep me going. Got these shoes 5 days before the race, ran 4 miles in them to try them out. No overwhelming pain. Ran the 26.2 no blisters, no soreness! Didn’t get my BQ, but they’re AWESOME racing sneakers, not magic sneakers. Lightweight and comfortable: just watch out for the puddles! Time will tell how well the treads hold up for this over-supinator runner. ... read more

These Shoes Make Me HAPPY

The design of these shoes is perfection. From the Heel Unicorn, the Colors, and every town name from the race route on the insole. And they are incredibly light. My only dilemma is that I don't want to run in them. May have to get another pair! ... read more

Good walking sneaker

I like the detail of the sneaker, the Boston Marathon route cities in the insole, the 26.2 on the laces and of course my favorite Spike the Unicorn on the outside. They may not have enough support for me to run in them however I do believe they fit true to sized of my running sneakers and are comfortable. ... read more

Fast trainer

Great looking if you like bright shoes, Which I do. Using these as a daily trainer amongst my rotation of shoes, doing about 50-60 miles a week. Did my first long run Saturday, 21 miles. The shoes held up well and felt comfortable the whole way through, not as soft as my waveriders but better then my adios', which I do speed training and marathon racing in Adios's (as a side note I absolutely love my Adios's) the Boston is a perfect inbetween shoe and fits well in my rotation. ... read more

Nice shoe. Great styling, too.

A very comfortable running shoe, even if I don't plan to run in them! I bought these to keep as a souvenir of the marathon and hope to make them last for a while which is why I won't be running in them, much. Great fit and feel. Also great looks and appropriate colors and design. Might need another pair just for running! ... read more

Great distance trainer

I ran a half marathon in these shoes right out of the box! Felt great even though my size wasn’t available. I normally wear a 7.5 but the 8 fit my foot well since this shoe runs small. I recommend relacing the shoes with the laces staring under the lip since the front of the toe box seems to run a bit wide, even for my wide feet. My pair has a small divet in the front outer edge of toe box on both shoes when tied. Upper is very lightweight and made of an interesting material, I hope it has the durability for long term use. ... read more
