My Favourite Interval/Tempo/Racing Shoe

Adidas didn't change much from the Adios 3, which is good news for me because I loved that shoe. The styling is the biggest change. I preferred the retro styling of the 3, but this is still nice. The laces are upgraded to be more elastic. I weighed my shoes, and they are identical in weight. The cushioning feels the same -- enough to take the sting out of the road, but still firm enough to be responsive. I have slightly wider than average feet and thought the fit was a bit narrow until I took them out for a run and realized they fit great. I am wearing my usual running shoe size. I think these are a great 10k-half marathon racing shoe, great for tempos and intervals, and still light and responsive enough for 5k races. My one request would be for more colour options, like green and blue. ... read more

Fantastic running shoes

Slightly wider than the previous model that make them much more comfortable. Great runners for speed work and long distance. I appreciate the design (white gets dirty though) but still regret the fast using of the Continental sole. ... read more

Light, Responsive yet well cushioned for the job

The Adios 4 is a lightweight racing shoe perfect for distances from a track 5k up to a half marathon. Although I was a big fan of the Sub2 as a 5-10k racing flat, the Adios 4 does the job it's required to do. For me, the Adios 4 is more of a jack of all trades, not quite as light and nimble as the Sub2 but is still a responsive yet well-cushioned racing flat capable of going quite far. My only problem (which was a similar problem with the Sub2 and many shoes nowadays) was that the midfoot was quite narrow as the tongue was stitched onto the upper (I have quite a wide toe box and midfoot, however, I was able to cut off the stitching between the upper and the tongue which freed up my foot a bit. Overall I would recommend this for runners who want a good looking shoe that can do a wide variety of distances. ... read more

Needed a half size smaller

I think the Adios 4 are bit more stiff, so the shoes will last longer. The shoes have a tighter fit compared to the previoius model. The shoe will give you just as adidas tells you a tight and locked-in -fit. Regards Botond ... read more

Great Road Racer

Trying Adidas again as my current racing flat has a heel cup that aggravates my achilles. No such problem with the Adios 4. Adios fits my narrow foot well. A UK10 is a comfortably snug fit as long as I use a lacelock to avoid any forward movement/middle toe bumping. I wear a UK10 in all else, except spikes and the Boston 6/7 (need a UK10.5 in those). Not the very lightest, so training not racing on the track, but perfect for road 5k, 10k, HM. Good flexibility in the mid/forefoot, but stable and responsive. No problem at 5 to 6min/mile pace. At 64kg, I'd even consider them as a daily trainer*. The upper and midsole were comfy out the box, comfier from 50k onwards. Good laces too! *Not sure about longevity. I know the Conti outsole lasts forever on Bostons and the old Supernovas, but it's thinner here. Makes a much more fun and flexible shoe, but probably a 500 mile lifespan. Any more will be a bonus. Great value when on offer. ... read more

Probably the worst Adizero Adios boost running shoe

I've ran in the Adizero Adios Boost 2 and Adizero Adios Boost 3, however the Adizero Adios Boost 4 is way to narrow and the materials on the upper doesn't give enough when running. The boost sole is also not as responsive. Extremely disappointing, as I have ran in this model for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, this model, 4, has lost its way. I do like the cosmetic design of the heel but the toe box is not as comfortable as previous models. ... read more

Fantastic running shoes

I've recently taken up running and decided it was time to splash out on some decent shoes at I increased my distance and speed. After reading several 'best running shoes' articles, the only ones that featured in all of them were the Adizero Adios 4 (or 3). I was initially put off by the price, but with Adidas's 33% off promotion I decided to take a chance and bought a pair. As soon at I put them on for the first time I knew they'd be good. They fitted like a glove (I went half a size up a recommended) and they felt great. I've only worn them twice for running so far, but beat my best time for 5km by over 1 minute first time out, and my 10km time by over 2 minutes in my second run. I'm looking forward to more runs in them in the near future with realistic expectations of running faster and faster. ... read more

Light, fast shoe, the upper is amazing

I hate to take my Adios off! The shoes have a very quick turnover at any pace. Extremely comfortable up to 20 miles. I'm sure a marathon would be fine too. My feet are average width and I find the upper to be the best of any shoe I've worn in years -- my foot is perfectly locked down but never feels compressed at all. And the Adios looks so understated and classy too. Great shoe... ... read more

Beautiful lightweight running shoes, great for race day

I brought these running shoes for a 10 k hilly race and was pleased to get a pb by several minutes. Also ran a 22.30 minute 5k too and I’m a 57kg 40+ female runner. Perfect for race day where lightweight supporting trainers are needed- absolutely love them, will buy again. ... read more

The perfect running shoe

I’ve worn the adizeros from the original introduction never had a problem or a single blister/toenail issue. Don't like the arch...

In my opinion, the Adios 3 are more comfortable. The Adios 4 run about 1/2 size too small. Also, there's an uncomfortable feeling in the arch area. Almost like something is pressing into my foot. It certainly wasn't a defect because I ordered the shoe more than once. ... read more

Too narrow

If you have wide feet do not buy these runners. I usually take a 10.5 so i went to a size 11 when getting these, but they might aswell given me a size 10, they were so narrow. It really fely like they gave me a size down, thats how tight and unfortable these runners were. With the Adios 3, a size 11 fitted me fine, it was snug but i would have been able to wear and run in them. However, they've really messed up the sizing with the Adios 4. It's apity as i was really looking forward to running in these. I returned mine. ... read more

Good purchase

Fit to my narrow foot as Adios 3 - great looks! I was worried about the size and I ordered the same size that Adios 3. I think the laces are a bit too long - there is a little bit more gap for the toes in Adios 4 than in Adios 3. This does not bother me. Good running shoes and I definitely recommend it. ... read more

Improved design, much tighter fit

Having worn Adios Boosts for several years, I was very excited for the Adios Boost 4. The design and construction has certainly lived up to the hype, however the fit is much tighter than previous models. If you have a wide foot, I think you would really struggle with these. I recommend going up a half size at least. The shoe also comes with the tongue stitch to the upper which make them almost impossible to get on and add an extra layer of tightness. I had to unpick the stitching and now the shoes a good. May consider returnng for a bigger size then these will be perfect. Overall, happy with the new Adios, they are lighter and feel even faster. ... read more

Excellent, lightweight runner!

Wore all previous Adizero Adios - here had to size-down by 1/2 a size and replace the harder insole in the 4s with a trimmed softer one from old 3s!

I have worn Adizero Adios since 'the beginning' and each change in version has been easy to get on with. So far with Version 4, whilst it seems (PROS) lighter and more aesthetically pleasing, (CONS / WORKAROUNDS) I have had to order a UK half size smaller than previously in the end, otherwise I was not getting the usual snappy toe-off response. I also initially found that the insole in the 4 is too hard for me and had too much arch support and almost felt like it was verging on the orthotic. This was easily remedied when I changed this and put in an old insole from one of my 3s (and trimmed down its toe slightly to fit). I am still not that happy about the way that the fabric flexes on the forefoot and creates scratching / pressure - inner forefoot - where I don't normally have trouble with either my road or other trail running shoes. It seems like very careful lacing pressure set-up is key in managing this. However I am sufficiently worried that in my particular case (and I do not have 'weird feet') that I may not get used to these in time for the London Marathon, that I have just emergency purchased what seems like one of the last few remaining pairs of the previous version in my size 'just in case'. This is meant to be a realistic review listing my workarounds and concerns for anyone in a similar position to me. Hope it helps! ... read more

Pretty good

I found myself buying some Adios 4s when there weren't any Sub2s in stock, needless to say, I'm not disappointed with my decision. The Adios feels great to race in. The width was a bit narrow in comparison to the Sub2 (I have Wide feet) but I'm sure they'll break in after a few more runs. As expected the Adios is slightly more plush and heavier than the Sub2 which is more responsive and Light. Personally, I would enjoy the Adios just as much as the Sub2 if it was slightly more wide around the middle to the toe area and maybe shaving a bit more weight (some lightweight trainers from other brands had similar weights) however its pretty lightweight as it is. Overall I recommend this shoe to people who have pretty average feet. ... read more

A superb running experience. The best shoes I ever had.

I broke my own record, with these shoes. I am ready to break more records. Too extra space inside would not be good because it would make it slower. Although it might seem a bit too tight initially, it will become completely normal after wearing it for 30 minutes. Do not select a size larger than your normal. I prefer to use these shoes for competition, and I use an other pair for the gym and walking. But keep in mind that these shoes will help keep your feet injury free in all cases. ... read more

Fast shoe

I love Adidas Adios line, but if I am completely honest I prefer the adios 3 although it was smaller fitting I felt it was more comfortable upper. The Adios 4 great fast shoe but has caused me to have blisters in my arch, also thing toe box is too roomy. Same brilliant sole but upper is a downgrade compared too adios 3 in looks and comfort ... read more

My go-to trainer for years

It's my 4th pair of Adizero Adios - so goes without saying I like it a lot. I'm a light-weight sprint & middle-distance runner with a narrow-ish foot so I use this trainer for almost all my running sessions on track, dirt road and road when not in spikes. I do feel that the shoe is not very durable, though, and a pair lasts less than a year (used ~4 days a week). The fit is narrow and it runs a size or even more smaller than my usual size so would recommend carefully checking which size is ideal for you. My 39.5 foot feels comfortable in 40 2/3! ... read more
